IGNITE

IGNITE (Improving GME Nursing Interprofessional Team Experiences) is the result of a formal partnership between GME, Nursing, and other partners at University of Chicago Medicine.

MD in the Room

Through preserving a touch base, IGNITE’s MD in the Room project aims to achieve better communication between care teams and nurses — which translates into better patient experience (team ratings, satisfaction) and care (length of stay, delays in care), a reduction of provider paging volumes, and a potential preservation of personal protective equipment by eliminating extra patient room entries.

MDR

The aim of IGNITE’s MDR project is to improve the efficiency of general medicine housestaff MDR through a structured reporting tool for residents, and to improve interprofessional communication through clearly identifying MDR staff name, role and contact information at each MDR.

Welcome to IGNITE

A well-functioning team is critical in providing safe, high quality, high value care — unfortunately, team training in health professions education remains largely siloed by profession. IGNITE (Improving GME Nursing Interprofessional Team Experiences) aims to engage residents and nurses together in performance improvement projects and institutionally-sponsored performance improvement events with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare delivery for our patients.
